Daily classes, real progress.

We do not teach the classes ourselves. We connect you with affiliate schools that deliver 25 to 30 hours a week of structured German across speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar and exam practice. One CEFR level roughly every two months, from absolute beginner to advanced.

Why C1 matters

The bar most German degrees set.

German-taught bachelor's and master's programmes almost always require TestDaF (TDN 4 average) or DSH-2. English-taught programmes may waive it, but most universities still recommend at least B2 for daily life and the visa.

Picking the school, filling in their forms and getting registered on the right level is where most students stall. Tell us the level you need and the date you need it by, and we deal with the school for you. For online German courses we charge nothing for that service.

We do not teach the classes. We choose the school that fits your level, timeline and budget, register you, and stay on it until you have a confirmed seat.

Course fees

GLS Berlin, per week

Published rates from the school itself. The weekly rate drops the longer you stay, so a longer booking is cheaper per week than several short ones. We register you at no extra cost, and free of charge for online courses.

One-off registration fee 35 € and teaching materials 20 €. A summer surcharge of 30 € per week applies from 29 June to 31 July. One-to-one tuition is 63 € per lesson. Prices are GLS Berlin's own and can change; we confirm the current figure with the school before you pay anything.

Quick answers.

How quickly can I reach C1?

From zero, studying intensively (25–30 h/week), a realistic timeline is 10–12 months to C1. Most students cover A1 to B1 in about six months, then B2 to C1 in four to six.

Can I learn German online?

Yes. We run live online classes for A1 to B2 with the same instructors. For TestDaF and DSH prep, in person in Düsseldorf works better thanks to the speaking lab and group practice.

How much does a course cost?

A level runs about two months and roughly 200 hours. The fee depends on the school, the level, and whether you study online or in person, so we quote you the exact figure for your plan before you commit to anything. Booking through us costs you nothing extra, and we get you the school’s best available rate.
